Box 2470 Largo, FL 33779 1-800-794-9071 https://www.RevolutionMoneyExchange.com/WebSite/ContactUs.aspx November 7, 2007 Parent company established in mid-2006 by AOL vice chairman Ted Leonsis and AOL founder Steve Case Accounts issued by First Bank & Trust (Brookings, South Dakota), Member FDIC and part of the Fishback Financial Corporation Planned to integrate with Facebook, AOL Instant Messenger, and other social networking services You get your own personal HTML payment button with no mandatory account upgrades or processing fees! Compare this to PayPal, which requires both if you want even a basic "Donate" button; otherwise, you would have to log in and go through the more tedious "Send Payment" process. Of course, RME requires both parties to have accounts, whereas PayPal can process payments from anyone (again, with variable fees per transaction). This company has the best Customer Service by phone that I have ever experienced! You get short and straightforward menu choices; classy on-hold music ("muzak" would be silly); and -- best of all -- a friendly automated voice that, in intervals of less than a minute, tells you (1) your number in line and (2) your estimated waiting time (which proved extremely accurate when I called)! When the representative joins you, the conversation might seem a little stiff at first; but I was expressing such enthusiasm at that point that the rep and I had an invigorating, detailed, and at times humorous conversation about the company and its service. RME is offering the same (or superior) referral rewards as banks such as TCF and ING, but without any opening deposit, required minimum balance, or account activity period! Furthermore, bonuses are deposited instantly on signup and can be withdrawn immediately. This is at least as quick as PayPal, plus RME has a bank to back it and no transaction fees! RME's Web interface is among the best I have ever used. The registration forms give you visual feedback as you fill them; the buttons and tabs are nice and big; the text is easily readable; and you are actually prevented from typing anything but numbers (and certain other symbols as needed) where numbers are required! Additionally, you can set useful account options such as automatically accepting pending payments, or choosing which notifications RME should e-mail you (I highly recommend setting them all). RME accountholders may not receive $600 or more in compensation in any one calendar year from special promotional programs sponsored by Revolution Money Inc. This is a good thing: it means I do not need to file a W-9 (which requires a SSN, EIN, or TIN, for those concerned) with RME to report self-employment compensation to the IRS. RME allows you to withdraw money electronically to another bank account for FREE, or by check to your address for $2.50 processing. I know many would opt for a check simply out of concern about providing more information to a business than is absolutely necessary; but I believe RME is trustworthy enough for me to "link in" one of my accounts to get free withdrawals. I use a small secondary checking account for this convenience "just in case." As with any bank account, your Social Security Number must be entered to open the account connected with RME. I list this as a downside simply because it is sensitive information that many are rightfully concerned about transmitting online; but I do not consider this a sign of a scam (banks legally require it; the Web form is secured; and I have to submit the same number every time I view college grades, apply for financial aid, or file tax forms online). There are steep fees associated with "check withdrawals ($2.50 per check), check stop payments ($20.00 per check), paper statements ($5.00 per statement), ACH returns ($35.00 per returned ACH), and overdrafts ($35.00 per overdraft)" . I don't consider this a sign of a scam (just always handle money electronically between RME and your bank, and never overdraw). A few typos appear in the system, such as transaction descriptions and message boxes. I don't consider these a sign of any kind of scam (just subpar proofreading by the coders -- the site is in its beta stage). If you have ever registered for and used PayPal, the only surprises RME will have for you are pleasant ones. It's the same as getting an extra bank account -- only simpler, faster, and more rewarding! Why should you care? Just "do the math." Spending 5 minutes of your life to get $25.24 gratis is equivalent to earning $303 an hour... only (1) you don't have to work for it; (2) you get a professional, practical service to use; and (3) you help someone else get $10 for nothing (equivalent to an extra $120 an hour)! If that isn't worth "wasting time" on, then I don't know what is!
